Welcome to my first fashion blog of 'beauty with soumya'. If you are a fashionista like me then this is the blog for you. Today I am going to share some outfit ideas which you can use if you have a belly fat or you tend to gain tummy frequently. These are some tips which you should keep in mind while shopping. I am not a fashion designer but these are the things I use which work amazingly well for me.

Generally stomach is the first area where fat of our body shows so most of us easily gain belly fat. It takes a lot of time and hard work to loose weight but if you are conscious about your tummy you can use these styling tips to look slimmer and stylish instantly.

In this fashion blog I am going to show outfit ideas in every category of clothes which you should keep in mind while buying clothes, also sharing some of the latest fashion trends. I also attached some of my pictures to give you an idea.

1) JEANS AND JEGGINGS-   

A high waist jeans is a raging fashion trend which is great for people with belly fat because it covers the tummy making us look slimmer. It gives our body a good structure looks extremely stylish with crop tops without showing much skin. A high waist mom jeans is must in your closet.

A stretchable jeggings is also trendy, it is high waist and does not hugs the body too tightly giving a casual yet fashionable look.

2) SKIRTS- 

Replace straight fit skirts with flared high waist skirts of any length of your choice, preferably ankle length skirt as it is in fashion trend. High waist flared skirt styled with a fitted top tucked in with boots gives an extremely stylish look. You can also wear long skirts which give ethnic yet stylish look and style it with some silver jewelry but these are not much in fashion .

3) TOPS- 

Peplum tops and empire tops are trendy which defines the waist just at the right place and gives a flared look around stomach. Also balloon style tops looks stylish without giving a bulky look. These can be worn with any type of jeans not necessarily high waist. Also A-line tops which fits from the bust area and open around stomach area looks classy and hides belly fat.

Any top which has broad elastic around stomach area can also be worn.

Off shoulder and cold shoulder tops are a great way to seek attention on the shoulders and not on our stomach and always in fashion trends.

4) CROP TOPS- 

Choose crop tops which ends just above the jeans and not too short. It will ensure that you do not show your tummy. Wear crop tops which are not too short or body hugging.

If you tie knot in your normal t-shirt to make it crop, do the same without showing much skin. Simple tips can make your basic dress look extremely stylish.

5) DRESSES- 

Choose the dress which fits you below your bust area and then flows. For this wrap dresses are great option and looks extremely fashionable and cute. Also A-line dresses and t-shirt dress looks great.

Wear dresses which has belt around waist or you can add a broad waist belt to any dress.

Avoid bodycon or body hugging dresses.

6) OVERALLS- JUMPSUITS AND DANGREES-

On the same note, use overalls which are high waisted so hides your tummy well or has a belt or elastic around waste area, as shown in the pictures below. 

Avoid wearing crop tops with a dangree as side fat can be visible.

7) PANTS AND TROUSERS- 

Avoid pants which are too baggy around stomach as it can make you look bulky, instead wear trousers or pants which fits around waist and also high waisted to cover belly. 

8) KURTAS- 

Ankle length straight kurtas gives a taller look and seeks attention to top to bottom instead of side to side. A-line kurtas and anarkalis are also a great option. Avoid fitted kurtas.

9) JACKETS AND BLAZERS- 

Wear denim jacket which is always trendy or ethnic jacket is also in fashion trend, to draw attention to it and not on the stomach. Blazers also give a classy look and look extremely fashionable styled with crop tops, drawing attention towards it.

10) LONG VESTS AND SHRUGS- 

Long Vests are extremely in fashion trends which make us look taller and also hide side fat in our stomach. Many celebrities wear them but these are hard to find in the market.

You can style shrugs with crop tops and kurtas which is in fashion trends too. 

You can DIY vests from your old straight kurta.

11) PALAZZOS- 

Wide leg flary palazzos (high waist) styled with fitted tops or A-line kurtas looks extremely stylish. Palazzos are comfortable to wear and also in fashion trends, can be styled in many different ways.

12) T-SHIRTS AND SHIRTS- 

Wear long and loose t-shirts which falls below your stomach rather than fitted short t-shirts.

Crop loose shirts are great option rather than fit shirts and also in fashion trends.

Complement your outfits with appropriate accessories, makeup and footwear. These are just the ways to look more put together and enhance your style. To hide your belly fat or not is everyone's personal choice.

Purple Ultra HD matte liquid lipstick honest review and swatches on medium skintone

Welcome to my blog 'beauty with soumya'. Today I am going to review another lipstick because I have many of them (but not enough), you will relate if you are a makeup lover or a lipstick lover.

Anyways, today's review is about a lipstick about which I heard many good things but it did not pleased me at all. It is the PURPLE ULTRA HD MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK. I have a mini version but the formula is same.

So here is my honest review

A bad lipstick can destroy a good makeup so be wise while choosing the formula of your lipstick, especially on important occasions.

Purple ultra HD matte liquid lipstick

PRICE- INR 499 for 4.8ml and 199 for 1.6ml but always on sale.

PACKAGING- It comes in a see through bottle with black cap and a fancy outer cover which has all the information. Packaging is good and sturdy. It has a normal dough foot applicator.

It contains PARABENS.

COLOR RANGE- It comes in 30 shades with wide range of color from red to purple, orange pinks and nude color lipstick.

TEXTURE- pigmentation of the lipstick is high and one swipe. It is a smudge-proof, transfer-proof and water-proof lipstick. It has a cake fragrance not overpowering at all.

You must be thinking then what is wrong with the lipstick. Well it is the formula which I don't like. The lipstick becomes patchy after drying but also matte. The formula is thick so more than one layer makes it thick and heavy on the lips.

After drying it will emphasize the lines on the lips. After eating something (oily or non-oily) it wears off from anywhere and becomes crumbly and starts coming off which is something I hate and not pleasing to see at all. 

STAYING POWER- Lasting power is 2-3 hours after which if you layer it up it becomes thick and crumbly.

The only way to apply this is to dot some on the lips then spread it from the finger.

It is a drying formula so lip balm is a must.

The color of the lipstick becomes dark after some time which I do not like. 

ABOUT SHADE 20 MY FIRST GOSSIP-

This shade is pinkish nude shade more on the pink side. The shade is very pretty but after some time turns more pink.

Overall I will not suggest to buy this lipstick. If you want to try it then buy the mini version. If you like it then you can obviously go for the bigger one.

Welcome to my blog 'Beauty with Soumya'. Today I am going to review an affordable and amazing Indian skincare brand. For a healthy and glowing skin, skincare is really important apart from eating healthy and drinking lots of water. I am going to focus on skincare in this article.

Himalaya is a known Indian brand. they claim to be a herbal and cruelty free brand. This skincare range is for acne and pimple prone skin and to lighten pimple marks. himalaya neem face wash is a very popular face wash for acne and pimples. Today I am going to review some other products of this range.

It is a paraben free product

HOW TO USE- moisten face and neck, apply a small amount of himalaya purifying neem face wash and gently work up a lather using circular motion. wash off and pat dry. use twice daily

SHELF LIFE- 3 years but 12 months after opening

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW-
Himalaya purifying neem face wash is a light green colored gel based face wash which does not dry out the skin. This is a great face wash for all types of acne prone skin people. It will work fro oily to normal to dry skin people.

I got reaction on my face after using biotique neem face wash, tiny bumps all over my forehead. Then I switched back to himalaya neem face wash and it recovered within a week or so. It can be a bit drying for very dry skin people so moisturize well.
but you have to wash your face twice daily from this face wash for best results for any skin type.

It is a great and affordable product for acne prone skin without making our skin dry, I will highly recommend.

It claims to be specially formulated to give you clear, problem free skin, this scrub works with dual exfoliation and purifying action.

Neem well known for its purifying and anti bacterial properties, kills problem causing bacteria. 

Combined with exfoliating apricot granules, it gently scrubs away blackheads, dead skin cells and embedded impurities leaving skin soft clear and refreshed.

INGREDIENTS- aqua, stearic acid, capric triglyceride, cetyl alcohol, microcrystalline cellulose, sorbitan stearate and sucrose cocoate, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexyglycerin, fragrance, carbomer, prunus, armeniaca seed powder, sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, tocopheryl acetate,  disodium EDTA, melia azadirachta leaf extract, curcuma longa rhizome extract

HOW TO USE- moisten face and neck and apply, avoiding area around eyes. Massage gently, more focussing on the T-zone then wash off.

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW- 

himalaya purifying neem face scrub is a mint colored creme based light scrub. Apricot granules in this scrub are very fine and gentle on the skin.

It is a mild face scrub which is also good for sensitive skin. It does not feels harsh on the skin and gently exfoliates dead skin and blackheads and whiteheads.

The skin becomes really soft and clean after using this but it may not remove stubborn blackheads in one go. It does suit every skin type and does not dry out the skin.

Do not use it more than thrice in a week as it can harm the skin.

I will recommend to try it. But it is not better than Biotique papaya tan removal scrub.

Himalaya purifying neem peel- off mask

PRICE- INR 75 for 50gm

ABOUT PRODUCT- himalaya purifying neem peel-off mask is power packed with neem and turmeric, reduces oiliness and helps prevents pimples, lightens pimple marks, leaving you with problem free skin.

INGREDIENTS- aqua, alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol, PEG-32, propylene, glycol, phenoxyethanol, fragrance, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate, azadirachta indica leaf extract and curcuma longa rhizome extract
(no parabens)

SHELF LIFE- 3 years but 12 months after opening

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW- 

It is a green colored gel based mask. It is a great mask if you have tiny bumps or mosquito bite bump on your skin. It lightens them after one use.

It can lighten the pimple to some extent but cannot remove it completely.

Himalaya purifying neem peel-off mask dries in 10-15 mins, hurts little on the skin while removing the mask. 

Make sure you tie your hairs properly before applying it. I will advice to use it only once a week as your skin stretches while peeling off the mask.

I will recommend it if you want to try an affordable peel-off mask.

5 biotique skincare range review

This is a great range to try if you are just starting with your skincare or you area a teenager or if you want an affordable skincare range then it is worth the try.

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW-

I have an acne prone yet dry skin. I used it for a long time it makes my skin clean but not much hydrated. I notice the difference on my pimples only if I wash my face 2 times a day. 

But after applying it for few days I noticed that after using the face wash itching starts below my ear which remains for sometime and also I got many bumps on my forehead. so, I stopped using it. This did not happened with my mother, she has a normal skin type.

I will advice to first buy a 50 ml bottle and if it suits you then continue it, it may work well for oily skin people.

I will prefer himalaya neem face wash over biotique neem face wash.

ABOUT PRODUCT - It is a cream based scrub which claims to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores to give a smooth skin surface. It claims to suit ALL SKIN TYPES. As it is a cream based scrub it is really good for dry skin people.

INGREDIENTS- papaya fruit and seeds, kela fruit pulp, khajur fruit pulp, neem bark, methi seeds, yashad bhasm, banhaldi rhizome, aam beej, bees wax, kikar gum, moongphali oil

HOW TO USE- massage on wet face and neck with fingertips, avoid eye area, remove with water or damp wash cloth

you should use scrub for maximum 3 days a week and do not rub your skin hard. gently exfoliate for 5 mins.

SHELF LIFE- 3 years, but after opening you can use it for only 12 months

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW with bio papaya tan removal scrub-

This scrub does wonders for my skin. It is a gentle scrub and has has tiny exfoliating particles which removes the dead skin and black heads and leave my skin soft and smooth. Repeated use of this scrub also removes ta from my face and gives a brightening effect. you can see the difference after first use.

It feels dry after washing it as I have dry skin.

I will highly recommend it to every person as it is one of the most affordable face scrubs.

4) Bio fruit whitening and depigmentation tan removal face pack-

ABOUT PRODUCT- this face pack claims to be blended with juices of pineapple, tomato, lemon and papaya fruit to visibly lighten skin for a fairer and flawless look.

Suitable for ALL SKIN TYPES

INGREDIENTS- multani mitti, geru, yasad bhasma, tamator, ananas, kikargaund, paste base

HOW TO USE- apply evenly on cleansed face and neck. Leave on for 15-20 min. Rinse with water or damp washcloth.

SHELF LIFE- 3 years but 12 months after opening

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW- 

This is my least favorite product in all the products I showed u. Bio fruit facepack has a thick paste consistency, after some time application it gives burning sensation on the skin which may indicate that it has bleach in it. This is not just but I heard this for almost everyone who uses it. 

Also I did not see any major change in my skin it just cleanses my skin and nothing more. I also do not noticed any depigmentation and tan removal on my skin.

I will not recommend it to anyone

5) Bio morning nectar lotion-

HOW TO USE- apply evenly on face and neck after cleansing and toning.

SHELF LIFE- 3 years but 12 months after opening

MY EXPERIENCE AND REVIEW- 

Biotique morning nectar face wash is a boon for dry skin type. It is a thick moisturizer which hydrates skin really well. After using it provides a healthy glow to the skin.

Using it under makeup will make your makeup long lasting and smooth.

Any skin type people can use this. In summers it will heavy on the skin so I will not suggest it for summer.

I totally finished my second bottle, my mother also like it a lot.

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Lipstick Voyager review and swatch on medium skintone// maroon lipstick

Welcome to my blog 'Beauty with Soumya', today's review is about very famous lipstick in the market Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid lipstick in the shade 50 voyager. These are loved by some people but not really by some other. So, let's see what's the deal about this lipstick

PRICE- INR 650 for 5 ml, sale price-INR 450-500

PACKAGING- Maybelline superstay matte ink lipstick comes in an edgy bottle with a white cap and color coded matte bottle. shade name is written in the bottom of it and information and date is written on sides which I really admire. packaging is quite bulky and classy.
The applicator is really interesting, pointed with a hole in it so it picks the product well and lipstick can be drawn precisely.

COLOR RANGE- Maybelline superstay matte ink comes in 35 shades with a wide range of colors from lighter nude colors to bold purple and grey. You can definitely find one for yourself.
Voyager is a deep maroon shade suitable to all skintones but can give a vampy look to fair skintones. Some shades of this range are patchy but never tried them so can't commit on it.

PIGMENTATION- maybelline superstay matte ink voyager is very high in pigmentation, one coat is enough

TEXTURE- lipstick has a thick texture which feels heavy on the lips after some time but moisturizing at the same time, I will suggest to scrub lips, apply lip balm but wipe before applying lipstick.
It takes quite a time to get dry completely but once it does it does not budge, completely matte, smudge-proof, transfer-proof and water-proof. But do not stick your lips while it is drying otherwise it becomes patchy, apply an even coat and leave it to dry.

Lipstick feels sticky on the lips like a glue and the stickiness does not go away even after drying and lasts throughout the day. I don't feel it to be uncomfortable but if u do then I will not suggest this


STAYING POWER- as the name suggests it is a superstay. Product claims that the lipstick stays for 16 hours I could never it for that long but it lasts throughout the day upto 8-10 hours. it can survive light oily meals but fades from the inner lips with foods like burger. I will suggest then to apply it only on the inner area and not on whole to avoid cakiness.

CONS OF MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY MATTE INK VOYAGER- 

1. sticky on the lips
2. pain to remove, can only be removed by oil based remover or coconut oil
3. can become patchy sometimes
4. after some time feel heavy on the lips
5. takes time to dry

I will suggest to buy a shade and see if it is comfortable then you can invest accordingly.

5 Different shades of Red lipstick, mini review and swatches on medium skintone from Rs 50-650

Welcome to my blog "Beauty with Soumya". Red lipsticks are the most versatile shade which can brighten any look. If you are running late and do not have time to do whole lot of makeup you can just apply minimal makeup with red statement lips and you are done. This is the shade that suits every skintone out there and easily available in every lipstick range.

But there are a lot of shades of red lipsticks and you should figure out which will suit your skintone the best and complement your look. So, in this blog I am going to show you different shades of red lipsticks which are easily available online and in stores with swatches on my medium skintone, also I am going to tell you right shade for your skintone.
Every lipstick shown below is comfortable to wear and do not accentuate fine lines on the lips.
I am going to show lipsticks in decreasing order of prices. So, let's start

1) Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Lipstick- Voyager :  

• Price- INR 650 but grab it on sale for 450- 500 easily.
• Maybelline superstay matte ink lipstick in the shade voyager is a wine burgundy shade suitable for every skintone. It will look gorgeous on medium to deeper skintones and give a dark lips look for fair skintone but still look very beautiful. 
• These are famous for their longetivity. they claim that lipstick remains for 16 hours. I have never checked them for 16 hours but they will easily last you throughout the day. After very oily food you need to touch up your lips just on the insides of lip as layering them up can make you feel heavy. 
• These are highly pigmented and non-drying but after few hours can make your lips dry so I will suggest to apply lip balm.
• It takes quite a time to become dry so do not stick your lips until wet otherwise it comes patchy, apply an even coat for smooth finish.
• It feels a bit sticky.

This is my go to lipstick for parties or whenever I am going to eat a lot, or when I want to make a bold statement lips this is the one.

2) Blue Heaven Elegance Matte Lip Color- 01:

• Price- INR 105, sale price- INR 85
• It is an orange toned red lipstick. It will complement fair to medium skintones but can be wore by anyone as it will not wash you out. It looks great in day time.
• It has a thin consistency and settles into a complete matte lipstick within 30 seconds. It is transfer proof but transfers after eating or drinking anything. so dab on the tissue after that or you can reapply. It cannot stand heavy meals
• blue heaven elegance matte lip color 01 is highly pigmented and non drying but I will suggest to use a lip balm underneath
• lasts upto 6 hours, this range is excellent choice in a budget but different colors perform differently so choose wisely

• It is a maroon color with slight pink undertones, complement all the skintones. this is more of an evening color.
• It has a watery consistency and settles within seconds into complete matte lipstick. It becomes patchy to layer it up after it becomes dry so you have to work fast.
• pigmentation is good not very high but will last you a decent amount of time.
• This range is easily available online as well as in local stores.

4) Matte Look Lipstick- 101:

• Price- INR 99 for 3.8 gm, bought from a local store
• This brand has some good lipstick launches with very good quality so I will recommend to take a look.
• This is a blue toned true red lipstick complement every skintone out there. This is a very bright red like in your face red color looks pretty in day time.
• This is a bullet lipstick so it will transfer a bit but it settles into a complete matte finish and non drying too.
• It can stand light meals but cannot stand heavy meals but you can always reapply.
• It is a highly pigmented lipstick, blot on a tissue paper or apply some powder and blend for more matte look.

This colour is really gorgeous and my go to red lipstick, If you can get your hands on it I will highly recommend it.

5) Candy Lipstick- 28:

• Price- INR 50 for 3.8 gm, bought from a local store 
• It is a lighter red lipstick, suit everyone.
• This is a creamy lipstick not at all and is an OK quality lipstick. 
• It is very much pigmented but transfers a lot so use I use a powder for a matte finish and it looks great. 

It was my first lipstick but a great purchase I used it a lot. So it is good for beginners or who do not want to invest much.
